Rev. Albert Ray Childress

Rev. Albert Ray Childress, age 89 of Wilkesboro began his eternal walk with his Lord on May 12, 2020. Born to the late Vance and Hester Blackwelder Childress. Albert served in the US Air Force and pastored many churches in Florida and North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his brothers, Ned, Hugh and Steve, and one grandson, Stephen Critz.
Those left to cherish the memories of Albert include his wife of sixty-seven years, Snookie Pennell Childress, two daughters, Melody Critz (Steve) and Kim Bouchillon (Jimmy), two brothers Rowe and Michael, three sisters, Linda, Paulette and Joan, six grandchildren, Amanda Critz Staley (Michael), Kaitlyn Bouchillon, Sarah Critz Caudle (Jeremy), Daniel Bouchillon, Matthew Bouchillon, Jameson Bouchillon, and one great-grandchild, Alexys Caudle along with a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service for Rev. Childress will be held at Taylorsville City Cemetery on Friday, May 15,2020 at 1:30 pm.
Rev. Mark Marshall will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse/Donor Ministries P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607 or Forgiven Ministry 200 Macedonia Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
