Alice "Teenie" Houston,

Alice Augustine Reese "Teenie" Houston, age 78 of Taylorsville, passed away on Saturday, July 12th, 2014 at Catawba Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 16th, 1935 in Catawba County to parents John & Fern Grainger Reese. She was plant manager for Whitener Hosery for many years. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. Teenie loved to cook & entertain, as well as travel. She was a rock for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Houston; and 3 brothers, Kenneth Burton Reese, John Reese Jr., and infant brother Joseph Eugene Reese. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Roger Lee Houston & wife Vicki; daughter Teresa Gail Houston & soul mate Carroll Swink - all of Conover; 1 grandchild, William Clyde Miller & wife Annette  of Taylorsville; 1 great-grandchild, William Clyde Miller II of Taylorsville; 1 brother, Richard Grainger Reese & wife Becky of Hickory; 1 sister, Mary Jane Elizabeth Rudisill & husband Joe of Catawba County; and woman's best friends. Peanut, Princess, & Precious. Visitation will be conducted at St. Peters Lutheran Church of Conover on Tuesday, July 15th from 2-3:30 PM, with a service to follow at 3:30 where Rev. Paul Birner will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
