Alphonso "Turk" Lineberger, age 72, of Taylorsville passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was born on November 17, 1941 in Catawba County to the late O'Donnell D. Lineberger and Sarah Alexander. Mr. Lineberger was a member of Gethsamene Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and sung in the all male choir, note choir, and gospel choir. Turk worked in the textile industry as a machine operator and enjoyed working on cars. He was a jack of all trades and loved playing with his grandkids. Along with his parents, Turk was preceded in death by his brothers: Alan Alexander and Donald Lineberger; and sister, Frankie Lineberger. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Lineberger; sons: Alphonso Curtis Lineberger, John Anthony Millsaps, Rashek Elijah Millsaps and wife, Candy, and Ivan Christopher Millsaps and wife, Shannon; three daughters:  Debbie, Elizabeth, and Leah Lineberger; seventeen grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers: Johnny Alexander, Ronnie Lineberger, and Larry Lineberger; sisters: Linda McCollum, Sandra Lineberger, Beverly Lineberger, Marsella Lineberger, and June Lineberger; aunt: Ruby Cline; and a host of other family members.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service and service will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Millsaps and Rev. Emmanuel Covington. Burial will follow at Washington Park Cemetery in Conover.
