Alton Emmett Edmunds,

Alton Emmett Edmunds, age 82, of Hickory, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Abernathy Laurels. Mr. Edmunds was born to the late Robert Emmett and Nannie Louise Goldman Edmunds on February 18, 1934 in Greenwood, SC. Before his retirement he was employed by Milliken & Company as a Chemist for 48 years. Mr. Edmunds was a member of  Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.

Mr. Edmunds leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Reese Edmunds, son Terrell Edmunds & wife Peggy, three daughters: Deborah Horton & husband James, Jan Folk & husband Thomas, Brooke White & husband Mark; five grandchildren: April Vogt & husband Andy, Brandalyn Connor & husband Charles IV, Kelly, Christin, & Caleb White; three great grandchildren: Logan Bishop, Harrison Vogt, & Charles "Quinn" Connor V; two sisters: Bernice Wilson & Linda Arrowood, & a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be Monday, April 4, 2016 from 1:30-3:00 pm at Martins Crossroads Holiness Church in Lincolnton, GA. The funeral service will be conducted following visitation. The Rev. Reese LeRoy will be officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will hold a memorial service in Hickory, NC at a later date.
