Annie Lee Hefner Meadlock, age 82 of Taylorsville passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Frye Regional Medical Center following a short illness.  Born to the late Floyd Dallas and Jennie Pearl (Fox) Hefner November 23, 1929, Annie was a lifelong resident of Alexander County.  She worked in the Textile Industry for many years prior to retirement and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she had been involved in Vacation Bible School, helping in the Nursery and Training Union, as well as the WMU.  Besides her parents, those that have preceded her in death are a sister Thelma Irene Hefner Reese, two brothers; Poly Dwight Hefner and Floyd Dallas Hefner, Jr.  One son, Tony Bruce Meadlock; and two grandchildren Brooke Danielle Powell, and Mark Anthony Bowman, Jr.  Those left to cherish her memories is her husband of 65 years, Clyde Odell Meadlock; two daughters: Catherine M. Elkins and husband, Ernie of Lincolnton, and Jennie Lynn Meadlock of Taylorsville.  One daughter-in-law Joan Teague Meadlock.  Three grandchildren: Tina Marchelle Brown of Hickory, Dallas Tyson Meadlock, and wife Maegan of El Paso, TX, and Carrie Elizabeth Meadlock of Taylorsville.  Four great-grandchildren: Katie LaShae Brown of Hickory, Raegan Grace Meadlock, and Cooper Levi Meadlock both of El Paso, TX.  and Brynlee Raelyn Meadlock of Taylorsville.  Two sisters-in-law Marie Meadlock Keaton of Greensboro, and Edith McLeod Meadlock of Taylorsville; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends  on Tuesday,  July 10, at Antioch Baptist Church from   2:00 - 3:45 pm, with the Funeral Service beginning at 4:00 pm.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Mark Morris and Rev. Dennis Spivey will officiate.  The family has asked that memorials be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund @ 580 Antioch Church Rd, Taylorsville, and The American Cancer Society @ P O  Box 2994, Hickory, 28601.
