Audrey Jane Clanton Munday, age 74, of Moravian Falls passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Born December 11, 1938 to the late Charlie and Dorothy Clanton. She was formerly employed at Shurtape and Dickie Mills and was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church. Audrey went back later in life and graduated with her GED, where she received recognition for the Highest Score in Alexander County. Upon completion of her GED she became a CNA and devoted her life to taking care of her parents and everyone she knew. She also enjoyed drawing, oil paintings, cooking, knitting and crochet. Including to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: William Frank Munday; sons: Randall Frank Munday and John Madison Munday and sister: Gail Elizabeth Handy. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Rebecca Geraldine (Norman) Lackey, William Charles (Shelly) Munday, and Vicki Ann Munday, all of Taylorsville; daughter-in-law: Penny Munday and her husband, the late John Munday; grandchildren: Shawn (Crystal) Lackey, Theresa Rosales, Heather Williams, Charlie Jr. Munday and Lisa Marie Munday; great-grandchildren: Marisa, Jordon, and Adrian Rosales and their father: Cucu Rosales; one brother: Darrell Raymond (Judy) Clanton of Moravian Falls; one sister: Martha (Hugh Miller) Bell of Yadkinville and one nephew: Darren Bell.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service and Service will begin at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Three Forks Baptist Church. The family would like to give a special thanks to Judy Clanton for her time and dedication and all the Pallbearers: Norman and Mike Lackey, Sam Handy, David Clanton, Darren Bell, Scott Bath, Cucu Rosales and Cody Rosenbaum.
