Avery Stephen ("Steve") Anderson, age 63, of Hickory, passed away on Friday, April 11th, 2014. He was born on Saturday, December 30th, 1950 to parents Avery Tellis ("Jack") and Betty Heavner Anderson. He was a member of the Jimmy Swaggard Media Ministry and he enjoyed  building birdhouses and bird watching.  He worked as a coater for Joan Fabrics in Hickory. He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Jerry Anderson; 2 brother-in-laws, Harvey Barger and John Dale Miller; and man's best friend, JoJo. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Alice Hall Anderson of the home; 1 daughter, Tammy Rosenbalm Robinson and husband Eddy of Hickory; 2 sons: Kenneth "Kenny" Rosenbalm Sr. and wife Pam of Hickory, and Randy Dale Rosenbalm and wife Deborah of Conover; 5 grandchildren: Alicia Robinson Huffman, Joshua & Sierra Robinson, Kevin Rosenbalm, & Kenneth Rosenbalm Jr,; 2 great-grandchildren: Arriana & Liam Robinson; 2 sisters: Barbara Ann Miller & Marilyn Sue Barger; sister-in-law, Cathy Anderson; a number of nieces and nephews; and his dog Buffy;  in addition to his lifelong friends, Bonnie & Ashley Myers of Bethlehem. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13th at Alexander Funeral Service from 1:00 - 2:45 PM. A service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 where Rev. Ronald Bolick will be officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Hickory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice in Steve's memory at 3975 Robinson Road, Newton NC, 28658. Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville has been entrusted.
