Avis Robinette Davis,

Avis Leona Robinette Davis, age 81, of Taylorsville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 7 at her residence. She was born on June 8, 1931 to the late Floyd and Ernestine Walker Robinette. Avis was married to the late Tommy Davis and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She loved reading her bible, spending time with her family and working outside in the flower garden. Those left to cherish her memory include her children Wayne Davis and wife Gail, of Taylorsville; Michael Davis and wife Darlene, of Taylorsville; Debi Cockrell and husband Willie, of Hiddenite and Darlene "Alex" Davis, of Charlotte; Six grandchildren - Jody Davis and wife Jenny, of Hiddenite; Steven Davis and wife Jamie, of Taylorsville; Tina Hampton and husband Daniel, of Georgia; Dana Childress and husband TJ, of Taylorsville; Derek Cockrell, of Clyde, NC; and Shanda Rogers and husband Bryan, of Hiddenite; 10 great grandchildren and nine brothers and sisters - Exie, Ralph, Elisha, Billy and Martha Robinette, Gerdine Bebber and Shirley Petrea, all of Taylorsville; Gene Robinette, of Virginia and Elizabeth Kerley, of Maryland.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church and service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Rick Safriet and Rev. Allen Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Jody Davis, Steven Davis, Bryan Rogers, Thomas Childress, Derek Cockrell and Christy Bebber.
