Barbara Ann Ewart,

Barbara Ann Ewart, age 66, of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born to the late Paul Lewis and Helen Christine Craig Lucas on October 12, 1949 in Wilkes County. Barbara was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was an avid shopper. Before her retirement she was employed by Sherrill's Furniture. In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her husband 25 years, Ray Samuel Ewart and a brother: Roger D. Lucas.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her only child, Marvin Ray Huffman Jr., sisters: Helen P. Shook & Evelyn Eaton; brothers: Paul E. Lucas & Danny L. Lucas; granddaughter: Shyanne, daughter in law: Audrey D. Huffman and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am-12:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2016 at Victory Baptist Church, with the funeral following at 12:00 pm. The Rev. Phillip Coffee will be officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include: Tommy Ashe, Lewis Swink, Michael Swink, Ken Walker, Raymond Lucas, and Tony Kanipe. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658
