Barbara Ellen Leaper

Barbara Ellen Bragg Leaper, age 73, of Taylorsville, passed away on October 23, 2016 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Barbara was born in Logan County, West Virginia on March 29, 1943 to the late Raymond and Glena Kitchen Gearhart. She was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church. Barbara loved her children and grandchildren. She was known for her willingness to help others.
In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Dana Ray Bragg, two brothers: Thomas and Jesse Gearhart; and two grandchildren: Dustin and Tosha Sweet.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Leah Mathis of Hiddenite, Kathy Gryder & husband Robert of Stony Point, and Betty Reynolds of Moravian Falls; one son, Dana Ray Bragg Jr. & wife Christy of Vale, one sister, Edna Franklin & husband Danny of Logan West Virginia, thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, sister in law and close friend, Saundra Murphy of Pigeon Creek, West Virigina, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Rocky Face Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Jesse Bragg and Rev. Mark Dula will be officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PlaceMemphis, TN 38105
