Barbara Estelle Clanton Miller, age 76, born on Wednesday, March 31, 1948, in Catawba County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House in Iredell County. She was a cherished member of her community and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Barbara embraced her role as a Tupperware dealer beginning in 1997, and over the years she became a familiar face in many homes, sharing not just her products but her warmth and kindhearted spirit. Her passion for cooking was evident to all who knew her, as she loved to prepare meals for her family and always took the opportunity to gather them around the table.
Barbara had a profound love for her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. She is remembered for her unwavering dedication and affection, which extended to her beloved dog, Prissy, who brought her great joy.
She leaves behind a loving family: her son, William "Gene" Coward (Abigail), and her daughter, Miste' Ferguson (Richard DeBetta). Barbara also cherished her grandchildren – Weston Ferguson (Leah), Tate Ferguson (Gabby), Sophia Ferguson, Logan Coward, and Easton Coward – who will carry her memory forward in their hearts. Moreover, she is survived by five great-grandchildren – Ryker, Tinsley, Timber, Rowdy, and Emmit; and her nephew, Jim Ferguson.
Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents, Garfield Finley and Chalma Teague Clanton, as well as her brother, Rowe Clanton, and sister, Brenda Ferguson. Their legacy remains an integral part of her life story.
