Barbara Ann Millsaps

May 7, 1939 — June 15, 2021

Barbara Ann Parsons Millsaps age 82, passed away Tuesday June 15, 2021, after a short illness. She was born May 7, 1939, to the late Robert Franklin Parsons Sr and Ruth Howell Parsons. Barbara was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church, enjoyed cooking, singing, being a missionary of God, most of all devoted to her family, and taking in anyone into her family that needed her. She worked for many years at Volex making cable and at ER Carpenter.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Billie Monroe Millsaps, two sons: Ricky M. Millsaps and William B. Millsaps, seven brothers and three sisters.

Those left to cherish the memories of Barbara include six daughters: Vanessa Golightly, Shelia Roseboro (Leonard), Rhonda Collins (Eddie), Sandra M. Satterfield, Julia Pollock, Sherry A. Millsaps, one son Eddie Millsaps (Margaret), six sisters: Pamela Lineberger (Jack), Carolyn Lineberger, Rachel Millsaps (Rev. James), Ceila Teague (Sanford), Modde Horton, Marybell Moore, four brothers: Doug Parsons (Lisa), Bruce Parsons (Mag), Gary Parsons, and Jack Parsons, thirteen grandchildren: Cameron Millsaps, Shante Tatum, Kendra Tatum, LaKeisha Millsaps, Emmaneul Millsaps, Kwanelle Murphy, Nakwaya Murphy, Micah Murphy, Preston Martin, Adrienne Millsaps, Trenton Millsaps, Journey Millsaps, and Eddie Millsaps, Jr., twenty-two great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, a special daughter Beverly Linney, special friends include the Lackey Family and two honorary brothers: John and Bo Phyllis.

Mrs. Barbara will lie in state at Alexander Funeral Service Friday June 18, 2021, from 9 am to 5 pm. Visitation will be held at Smith Grove Baptist Church on Saturday June 19, 2021, from 2-3:15 pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday June 19, 2021, at 3:30 pm at Smith Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. William Little, Rev. Melvin Linney, Rev. Sterling Howard, Rev. Frank Linney, and Rev. James Millsaps. Burial will follow in the Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers and the flower girls will be family. The address to Smith Grove Baptist Church is 160 Smith Grove Church Rd Hiddenite, NC 28636.
