Benjamin Blair, age 96, of Taylorsville, passed away at Valley Nursing Center on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Mr. Blair was born to the late John Caldwell and Ollie Mae Pennell Blair on Monday, May 12, 1919 in Alexander County. Mr. Blair served in World War 11 and was a proud member of the VFW. Mr Blair was a well known apple grower and staunch Democrat.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his; wife Gladys Harrington Blair, daughter Gloria Blair Smith, son in-law Robert H. Smith, two brothers, and three sisters.
Mr. Blair leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service from 2:30-3:30 pm. There will be a graveside service following visitation at 4:00 pm in the Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery.
