Betty Jean Linney Bennett, age 91, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at Autumn Care in Iredell County.
Ms. Bennett was born to the late Roger Linney and Leathia Jones Linney on January 25, 1931, in Alexander County. Betty had worked for Alexander Hospice as a CNA. She was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. Betty loved watching NASCAR, tennis, and football, especially the Carolina Panthers. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, traveling, and dancing. At one time, Betty was a member of the Golden Women’s Club.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bennett, three sisters, Daisey Watts, Hazel Hull, and Earline Booker.
Those left to cherish the memories of Betty include niece and caregiver, Bobbyetta Sharpe and Charles, nieces, Vandetta Watts, Rita Hoover, Koketia Hamlette, Emily Smith, nephews, John Watts Jr, Jamie Watts (Linda), Ricky Linney (Roslind) he called her everyday, special helper, Brenda Parsons, and a number of nieces, nephews, and family members.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2022, at Alexander Funeral Service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Monday, November 21, 2022, in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Third Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. William Little will officiate.
