Betty Estelle Bentley,

Betty Estelle, “Tootsie” Starnes Bentley, age 72, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, March, 2nd, 2011 at Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley. She was born on July 15th, 1938 in Alexander County to the late Willie and Vada Lackey Starnes. She retired from Leather Craft Furniture in Conover where she was an inspector. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaither Leroy Bentley, as well as one sister, Linda Sue Starnes Rowe. Betty is survived by two sons: Randy Bentley and wife Jan, and son Jeff Bentley, all of Bethlehem. One brother in law, Wayne Rowe, Bethlehem. She has two grandchildren, Aaron and Leah Bentley, both of Bethlehem. Mrs. Bentley has one niece, Revonda Starnes of Bethlehem. Visitation will be Friday, Mar. 4, 2011, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Service, with services at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel where Rev. Fred Stapleton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Friendly Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Aaron Bentley Scholarship fund for Bible College, in care of 2379 Icard Ridge Rd. Granite Falls N.C. 28630.  Alexander Funeral Service is entrusted with the arrangements.
