Betty Lucille Parker McFee, age 79, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at her residence in Alexander County. She was born to the late Franklin Early and Virginia Gaines Parker on Sunday, June 4, 1944, in Alexander County. Mrs. McFee was of the Mormon and Baptist faith. Lucille worked at DeVries Brothers in Hiddenite for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Her greatest joys were being a mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Herbert McFee; sisters, Pauline Poore (David), Mary Lee Beckham (James), Marcel Moore (Grady); brother, Cecil Parker.
Those left to cherish the memories of Lucille include her daughter, Angie McFee (and her partner, Jennifer Daly and her children Vernon and Brandon Edwards); daughter, Donna McFee Speece and children, Jeremy (Brooke), Nicholas (Jackie), and Sammy Speece; three great-grandchildren, Ivan, Charles, and Trinity Speece; brother, JA Parker; sisters, Margie Morrison (Donald) and Phyllis Henry (Chris).
A memorial service will be Sunday, August 20, 2023, in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 5:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Rocky Face Baptist Church Cemetery.
