Betty Blankenship Treadway,

Betty Sue Blankenship Treadway, age 82, of Moravian Falls, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 18th, 2011 at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville.  She was born on February 4th, 1929 in Alexander County to parents William Walter and Letha Mae Stuart Blankenship. Betty was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Moravian Falls where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William G. “Jackie” Treadway; and her sister & brother-in-law, Lucille Kazor & husband Frank and sister-in-law Saundra Treadway, and brother-in-law Lewis Parker and three nephews: David Treadway, Frankie Kazor, and Wayne Johnson.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 66 years, William Gaither “Jack” Treadway of the home; their son, Gary Treadway and wife Kathy; grandson, Chad J. Treadway and wife, Amber – all of Moravian Falls; her brother-in-law, Mack Treadway of Taylorsville; 2 sisters: Pauline Parker of Concord and Gracetene Johnson and husband Mack of the Oakwoods Community; and her Aunt, Nema Henkle of Gastonia and a number of nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be conducted Saturday, May 21st, 2011 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church from 1:30 – 2:45 P.M. The Funeral Service will follow at 3 inside the church, where Rev. Tim Henderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.     Alexander Funeral Service inTaylorsville has been entrusted with arrangements.
