Beulah Mae Elder Canter, age 80 of Taylorsville passed away after a brief illness in Frye Regional Medical Center on Monday, December 31, 2012.  She was born in Alexander County to the late William Sherrod and Emma Elizabeth (Walker) Elder, November 4, 1932, and had retired from the medical profession. She was of the Baptist Faith. Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Atwell Canter; three brothers - Espie, Richard, and Solon Elder, and one grandson Shane Canter. Those left to cherish her memories are four sons:  Nicky Canter and wife Jessie; Johnny Canter and wife Kathy; Albert Canter and wife Eva; and Preston Canter.  One daughter Nicole Canter.  Six grandchildren: Renae  and Martires Canales, Tiffany, Christopher, Travis and Amy Canter.  Four great grandchildren; Rico and Nevaeh Canales, Nikolas Canter, and Gabriel Goss.  She also leaves behind one brother Rupert Elder and wife Vinny, as well as a number of nephews, nieces, and other family members.
The family will receive friends at Alexander Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Alexander Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 pm.  Rev. Mark Dula and Rev. Ronald Brookshire will officiate. Burial will follow at Little River Baptist Church Cemetery.
