Billie Monroe Millsaps, age 78, of Taylorsville, passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 11, 2016. He was the son of the late Garfield and Sarah Jane Linney Millsaps. Mr. Millsaps was born on February 14, 1937 in Alexander County. He was a lifelong member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. He attended faithfully until he was unable to. He served as deacon, leader of the choir, and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Millsaps was self employed as an auto mechanic. Mr. Millsaps was owner and operator of Billie's Auto Repair. He specialized in transmission and motor repair. He loved cars especially Lincolns & Fords. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to Christian music, and singing. Mr. Millsaps will be remembered for his kind heart and love of the Lord.

In addition to his parents Mr. Millsaps was preceded in death by his sons: William Boyd Millsaps & Rickey Millsaps; brothers: Rev. Mack, Aaron, Joby, & Cecil; and sisters: Dot, Kate, & Ada.

He leaves behind his legacy to be cherished by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Parsons Millsaps, daughters: Vanessa Golightly & husband Rufus, Sheila Millsaps, Rhonda Collins & husband Eddie, Sandra Millsaps, Julia Pollock, & Sherry Millsaps; his son Eddie Millsaps & wife Margaret, sister Wilma Speaks, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 pm Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. William Little, Rev. Melvin Linney, and Rev. James Millsaps will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
