Billy "Bill" Rosevelt Smith

Billy “Bill” Rosevelt Smith, age 78, of Taylorsville left this world for his eternal home on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Valley Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 24, 1940 in Alexander County, the son of the late Isaac Newton & Lucy Mae Testament Smith. During his career, Bill worked as an upholster for Broyhill Furniture. He was a member at Millersville Baptist Church and loved spending time with his great grandbabies. Bill was a wonderful & loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Always being there for you and great around the house. He was also a Duke basketball and Alabama football fan, especially during the Bear Bryant era. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years Geraldean Holloway Smith, of the home; son William Smith & wife Candy of Lenoir; two granddaughters Ashley Sweet & husband T.J. of Taylorsville and Nichole Bickle of Tennessee; grandson Dakota Smith of Lenoir; great-grandchildren Gunner & Sadie Sweet of Taylorsville and Scarlett Smith of Lenoir; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 3:30 pm in the chapel at Alexander Funeral Service with the Rev. Bill Orren officiating. Burial will follow at Liledoun Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Millersville Christian Academy at 130 Millersville Rd; Taylorsville, NC 28681.
