Billy Chase Little, age 76 of the Oxford community in Catawba County, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba County. He was born on June 30, 1936 to the late Arthur Chase and Winnie Little. He served in the Army National Guard following his service in the US Army. He was a member and past president of the Catawba Cattlemen's Association. Billy was an avid and well known farmer and merchant in Catawba County who raised prize cattle. He was the founder of the Catawba Valley Youth Beef Expo and a member of the American Legion Post and the Moose Lodge in Catawba County. Mr. Little was also a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Including his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers - Charles, Claude and Eubert Little and two sisters - Annie Little Byers and Helen Little Hollar. Survivors include his wife of 45 years - Alice Huffman Little and two daughters - Crystal and Angela Little, all of the home; one sister - Josephine Little Setzer, of Claremont and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church and Service will follow at 3:00 pm. Pastor Matthew Shilling and Pastor Paul D. Birner will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
