Billy Eugene Bowman,

Billy Eugene Bowman, age 76, of the Bethlehem Community, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Frye Regional Medical Ctr.  Born August 4, 1934 to the late William Harold and Desola Bolick Bowman in Alexander County, he was a carpenter and custom cabinet maker. Billy was a member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, and was a veteran of the United States Navy.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Lynn Moore;  four brothers, Ronald Russell Bowman, William Bruce Bowman, William Royd Bowman and Larry Frye.  He is survived by one daughter, Beverly Ann Bowman of Stanley, NC; 3 sons: Shuford William Bowman, of Washington, DC; Brett Bowman of Raleigh, NC and Ryan Bowman of Mt. Holly, NC. Two grandsons, Austin Eugene Bowman, Stanley, NC; and Aaron Bowman, Charlotte, NC. Two brothers, Edgar Ross Bowman, Stanley, NC and Howard Ray Bowman of Hickory.  Five sisters:  Francis Williams, Taylorsville; Haroldleen Payne, Lincolnton; Margret Lucille Setzer Catawba, NC ; Karen Joan Ward, Lenoir; and Rachel Christine Tester, Lenoir. He has a number of nieces and nephews.  Graveside memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Stone officiating.
