Billy Ray Day, age 81, of Taylorsville, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice. He was born to the late Charles Adrian and Edith Bell Reinhardt Day on January 22, 1934. Bill was a member of Winklers Grove Baptist Church. He loved watching racing and wrestling. He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed canning vegetables from his garden. Bill looked forward to getting together with his siblings once every month.
In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by two sisters; Sheila Day Arney & Betty Odom.
He leaves family memories to be cherished by his daughter Teresa Cabling and husband Elmer of San Diego, CA, three brothers; Carroll and wife Norma, Charles and wife Doris, & Jimmy Day, granddaughter Ashley Profeta, special family friend Marsha Penfield, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Winklers Grove Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Dale Faulkenbury will be officiating the service. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family requests that in addition to flowers memorials may be made to Winklers Grove Baptist Church, 3320 9th Ave. Dr NW, Hickory, NC 28681
