Billy Wayne Mills,

Billy Wayne Mills, 69, of Charlotte, NC went to be with his Lord on January 17, 2013, at Valley Nursing of Taylorsville, NC.  Born May 4, 1943 in Rockingham, NC, he was the son of Noah Hassell Mills and Ina Catherine Mills.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers:  Lacy Frank Mills of Pikeville, NC and George Mills of Charlotte, NC and sister, Sarah Evon Lefler of Charlotte, NC. Billy is survived by brothers:  Robert (Bobby) Mills of Hamlet, NC and Leonard Mills of Matthews, NC and sisters:  Faye Fetter and her husband Jack of Ellerbee,  NC and Catherine Janelle of Charlotte, NC and numerous beloved nephews and nieces. A former Marine, Billy was stationed at Guantanamo Bay Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.  He owned and operated Metrolina Pest Control of Charlotte.  Later, Billy worked in construction at Carolina beaches, where he and a friend enjoyed weekends playing Bluegrass music at local clubs. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Nursing for caring for Bill. Also, our thanks go to Hospice of Catawba Valley.  Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, NC 28658.
