Billy Wayne Presnell age 68 of Taylorsville passed away unexpectedly at Catawba Valley Medical Center on Tuesday morning March 31, 2015. He was born to the late David Bufford and Treva Robinette Presnell who survives on Monday, July 8, 1946 in Wilkes County. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam conflict, where he was a Specialist 4th class. He received 5 metals during his time in service. He was awarded the National Defense Service metal, Vietnam Service metal, Vietnam Campaign metal, Sharpshooter Badge for M14, and Good conduct metal. Billy loved fishing with his grandsons and watching his granddaughter play softball. You could always depend on him being eager to help anyone that needed it.
In addition to Father he was also preceded in death by a sister Linda Presnell Davidson.
He is survived by his Mother, wife of 42 years Patricia Eldridge Presnell, a daughter Krystal and husband Douglas Bennett, three grandchildren Angelica, Jordan, and Jeremiah Bennett all of Taylorsville, one sister Lisa and husband Billy Frye of Conover, and two nieces Amy Fox and Laci Frye.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church from 2:30-4:00 pm with the funeral service starting at 4:00 pm. The Rev. Dan Spears and the Rev. Tom Lambert will be officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Military Rights will be provided by DAV chapters 84 of Taylorsville and 6 of Hudson.
