Billy “Bill” Neal Wike, age 81 of Taylorsville, passed away on October 26, 2021, in Alexander County.
Bill was born on October 30, 1939, to the late Poley Crouse Wike and Mary Elizabeth Deal Wike in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
Bill was retired as an upholster.
Bill was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Bill was a hard worker and in his spare time enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Prior to retirement, he was active in the Alexander County Rescue Squad as well as the Alexander County Sheriffs Department.
Including his parents, Bill is preceded in death by six brothers, James JR Wike, R.D. Wike, Harold Wike, Jack Wike, Clyde Wike, and Sam Wike, as well as one sister, Annette Fisher.
Those left to cherish the memory of Bill, include his wife of 31 years, Wanda Braswell Wike, Stepson’s, Michael “Chad” Mecimore (Cathy), and Jason Mecimore (Misty).
Biological son’s, Jamie Hampton, and Bradley Faw. One sister, Jeanette Austin.
Eight grandchildren, Olivia Mecimore, Alexis Mecimore, Adam Mecimore, Kara Mecimore, McKayla Mecimore, Ella Mecimore, Uri Mecimore, and Christina Hampton, along with several nieces and
nephews.
Mr. Wike will lie in state on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service.
Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 11:00 am at Beulah Baptist Church.
Rev. Keith Bowman, Rev. Brent Dula, and Rev. Nathaniel Austin will be officiating.
Burial will follow in the Carsons Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Terry Burns, Eric Bumgarner, Briar Williams, Chuck Duncan, Shane Harrington, Jeff Herman, Randall Williams, and Jarrod Hammer.
