Bryson Ulysses McAlpin,

Bryson Ulysses McAlpin, age 79, of Taylorsville, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Alexander County on December 20, 1934 to the late Paul Ulysses McAlpin and Mammie Cook McAlpin. Bryson was retired from General Electric of Conover, NC. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister; sisters: Mary Bentley, Carrie Daniel, and Shirley Elder. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley Jackson McAlpin of the home; sons: David Michael McAlpin (Robin) of Chesapeake, VA, and Dusty McAlpin (Dianne) of Taylorsville; grandsons: Aaron McAlpin and Shane McAlpin of Chesapeake, VA; brother: William "Bill" McAlpin of Statesville, NC; sisters: Irene McHaruge of Statesville and Ethel Teague of Bethlehem; and a number of nieces and nephews.
