John Lunnemann, a resident of Hickory and Newton for the past three years, expired on December 27,2014, at the age of 79.
John was born on January 20, 1935, in Hilo, Hawaii. His family moved to Philadelphia, PA after the outbreak of WWII. John graduated from Lincoln High School and completed the apprenticeship program for tool and die while working at Bermuda Tool and Die Company where he became a master tool and die maker. He married Marion Wright. He joined Xerox Corporation in 1965 in Webster, NY where he became a master model maker, constructing prototype machines for production. He retired from Xerox in 1995. He and his wife moved to Lexington, VA, Hickory and Newton, which became home for the couple in 2012. Recently John resided at Carillon Assisted Living.
John is survived by his wife Marion, of Newton, by Pamela Andre, Daughter, two granddaughters Heather and Christina, residing in Charlotte, NC, and a sister, Lorraine Labana of Canton, MI.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Shuford House, 534 Third Ave. NW, Hickory, NC. 28601.
