Carl Wilson Teague, age 73, of Taylorsville, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Carolina Medical Center. He was born in Alexander County on November 29, 1940 to the late Frank Wilson Teague and Mary Lovina Teague. Carl was employed as a truck driver for Khroeler Furniture Manufacturing and he attended Stoney Point Tabernacle. He also owned and operated Carl Teague Sawmill and was a cattle farmer. Carl provided a gospel ministry at Gospel Hour Broadcast for 50 years and he also attended the original Stoney Point Tabernacle. He loved Studebaker automobiles as well as his farm and animals. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Stephen Teague Sr.; and mother and father-in-law: Annie and Andrew Dickerson. Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Peggy Jean Dickerson Teague; daughters: Tammy Shortridge and husband, Jeff, of Richlands, VA, and Pam White of Taylorsville; son: Billy McDaniel and wife Pam of Taylorsville; sister: Judy Teague of Taylorsville; nephews: David Teague of Taylorsville and Josh Teague of Cool Springs; grandchildren: Julia McLaughin, Dustin Honeycutt, Paul Shortridge, Anastasia Shortridge, and Londyn Shortridge; step grandchildren: Tracy Coffee, and Josh Jackson; and seven great grandchildren.
The visitation will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Thomas and Rev. Chuck Hager officiating. Burial will occur at Stony Point Tabernacle cemetery after the service. Pallbearers include David Teague, Josh Teague, Jordan Hubbard, Fred Bumgarner, Burton Reid, and Kevin Hubbard.
