Carlene Bard Blackburn,

Carlene Olynthia Bard Blackburn, age 55, of the Bethlehem community, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015. She was a member of Mt. Bethel U.M.C. where she was the church librarian. She served as a part time assistant at Bethlehem Elementary for 5 years. She taught Sr. High Sunday school. She was a leader in the cub scouts. She served as a devoted Bible school teacher for over 16 years. She volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Mobile. She taught GA's at Bethlehem Baptist church. She loved cats, and enjoyed helping people and following the Lord.



Mrs. Blackburn is survived by her devoted and loving husband Scott Blackburn; A devoted caring son Daniel Blackburn; father and mother George and Arbutus Bard of Taylorsville; brother Steve Bard and wife Kay of Salisbury; father in-law and mother in-law Cecil and Connie Blackburn of Hickory; sister and brother in-laws; John and Marva Cornacchio, Tim and Monika Blackburn, Todd and Karen Blackburn; nephews; Steven Bard, Jason Bard, Nicholas Blackburn, and Chris Powell; nieces; Nicole Cornacchio, Cutie Clontz; and her much loved felines; Gracie, Buddy, Max, Minnie, and Lilly.



The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Mt. Bethel U.M.C. 9042 NC 127 N, Hickory, NC. The Rev. Steven Johnson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylorsville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:30 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt.
