Carlotta Grimes, age 77 of Hiddenite passed away on November 3, 2019 at Iredell Health Systems, she was the daughter of the late Brant and Viola Blevins, Sr. of Wilkes county. Carlotta embraced her family as a homemaker and loving mother. She was a member of the Wilkesboro Presbyterian Chapel, enjoyed doing crafts, painting, scrap booking and was very interested in working on the genealogy of her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Nance.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of fifty-four years, Richard Gray Grimes, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Reneé Mawyer (Anthony) of Taylorsville; two sons; Richard Grimes (Julie) of Hiddenite; Chad Grimes of the home, four grandchildren; Emily Mawyer; Jonathan Grimes; Olivia Grimes and Zane Mawyer. Carlotta also leaves behind three sisters, Joyce Greene (Curtis) of Millers Creek, Beth Watkins of Oak Island, Pam Blevins of Purlear, three brothers, Wayne Blevins (Donna) of Ronda, James Blevins of Ronda, Bill Blevins (Christina) of Sylva, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ms. Grimes will be held on Friday; November 8, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday; November 9, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Wilkesboro Presbyterian Chapel with the body lying in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow at the Scott Blevins Cemetery in Jefferson NC on the Old Hwy 16 N.
