Carol Ann Shook,

Carol Ann Shook, age 74, of Taylorsville, passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. She was born to the late Cedric and Pauline Brown Orren on July 12, 1941 in Rowan County. Carol attended Little River Baptist Church. Before retiring Carol was employed as a CNA at Shady Rest Home & Bellsview Rest Home. She was caregiver to all her family, loved church, and her family was her life. In addition to her parents Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Harvey Shook and one brother Johnny Orren.

Carol is survived by son, Scotty Shook of the home, two brothers; Lee Orren of Taylorsville & Ronnie Orren of Stony Point, three sisters; Brenda Orren of Hickory, Sharon Coffee of Taylorsville, & Hope Orren of Hickory, and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation is 2:00-3:00 pm Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Little River Baptist Church. The Funeral will follow at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Jeff Chapman will be officiating the service. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include; Scotty Shook, Wes Orren, Austin Steele, Keith Orren, Dwayne Tedder, & Stacy Mitchell. The family requests that in addition to flowers memorials be made to Little River Baptist Church, 2070 Little River Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681
