Carol Jane Reid O'Brien

Carol Jane Reid O'Brien, age 58, passed away peacefully at her home in Caldwell County. She was born on October 25, 1965, in Catawba County.

Carol touched the lives of many, and will be remembered for the joy she found in spending time with her children and granddaughter creating cherished memories that will forever live on. 

Outside of work and family, Carol had a deep appreciation for simple pleasures. She enjoyed listening to old country music, gathering around the fire pit with loved ones, and escaping to the beach whenever she could.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Robert O'Brien; her daughter, Tabatha O'Brien-Childers (Chaz); her son, Skyler Lee O'Brien; her granddaughter, Carly Elizabeth O'Brien; her sister, Debbie Lafone (Danny); her brother, Allen Reid (Shelia); her sister-in-law, Lisa Reid; as well as her fur baby, Maui, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Harold and Mary Mitcham Reid, and brother, Dedrick Reid. Although Carol has left this world, the memories she created with those she held dear will continue to bring comfort and warmth to all who knew her.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made of large print Bibles to Catawba Valley Medical Center Oncology Ward.

In honoring Carol's life, let us remember her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace knowing that she was truly cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
