Charles "Charlie" Everett Sigmon, Sr., age 81, of Taylorsville passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his residence. Born June 15, 1932 to the late Everette Buren and Lela Simmons Sigmon. He served with the National Guard during the Korea Era. In Charlie's career he worked as a Mechanic for Paramount Cadillac and Oldsmobile, Biltmore Dairy, NCDOT, Taylorsville Automotive, and Sigmon's Automotive. He enjoyed Racing and would yearly go with his family to Daytona Speedway and also enjoyed driving his race car at Hickory and Wilkesboro Speedway - when they were dirt tracks. Charlie sure loved his bestfriend's "Trixie and Spankie." In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Beatrice Campbell Sigmon; brother: Gaither Sigmon and sisters: Betty Sigmon and Verna Whitner. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter: Sheila Anderson; sons: Gary Sigmon and wife Tracy and Charlie Sigmon, Jr. and wife Janet, all of Taylorsville; grandchildren: Whitney Sigmon, Garrison Sigmon and wife Ashleigh, Mark Sigmon and wife Alicia, Brook Sigmon, Robert "Robby" Anderson and wife Sharon, and April Gant; granchildren: Hayley Anderson, Madison Robbins, Baydin Anderson, Mason Sigmon and Alaney Sigmon; and a number of nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service and Service will follow at 3:00 pm at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ray Ohlendorf officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Charlie Sigmon, Gary Sigmon, Mark Sigmon, Gregory Deal, Ray Hardin and Jimmy Crouch.
