Charles Edward Setzer,

Charles Edward Setzer, age 74, of Lenoir, passed away at Caldwell County Hospice on Monday, May 2, 2016. Mr. Setzer was born to the late Clifford Ward and Carrie Leola Craig Setzer in Caldwell County. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and hanging out with his breakfast buddies at the Bo. Mr. Setzer worked for Alexander County Schools as a custodian for both Wittenberg and Bethlehem Schools. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents Mr. Setzer was preceded in death by his wife Tressie Richey Setzer and two brothers: D.A. & Leo Setzer.

Mr. Setzer leaves to cherish his memory, daughters: Regina Church & husband Robert of Taylorsville, Patricia Grant & husband Tim of Lenoir, and Beverly Winkler & husband Kelly of Hudson; nine grandchildren: Lea Church of Taylorsville, Jenna Bumgarner, Marie & Tristan Saunders all of Lenoir, Evan Bumgarner & fiancé Jade Hennig of Hillsboro, TX , Ricky Grant & wife Jessica and Amanda Grant & fiancé Chad Page both of Raleigh, and Jared & Jeremy Winkler of Hudson; brother Kenneth Setzer of Connelly Springs, sisters: Mary Bumgarner and Helen Reid both of Hudson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family wishes to give a special thanks to ICU of Caldwell Memorial Hospital & Hospice of Caldwell County.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Union Baptist Church from 6:30-8:00 pm. The funeral will be conducted on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Myron Davis will be officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include: Evan Bumgarner, Jared Winkler, Jeremy, Winkler, Steve Hollar, Don Reid, and Scott Malicoat.
