Charles Culp McGinnis Jr., born on February 7, 1945, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2024, in Catawba County, NC. He lived a life filled with family, passion, and a genuine love for those around him.

A proud graduate of Statesville High, Charles dedicated many years of his life to a career at Elmer's-Hunt Bienfang in Statesville, NC, from which he eventually retired. His work ethic and commitment to his job were a testament to his character and dedication.

Beyond his professional life, Charles had a rich tapestry of hobbies that included a keen interest in antiques. With an extraordinary knack for turning the seemingly useless into cherished treasures, he frequently attended antique auctions and enjoyed tinkering with old clocks and cars. His creativity and resourcefulness shone through in all that he did. In addition to these pursuits, Charles held a deep affection for his family, often described as a loving husband and a devoted dog owner to Agnes, his beloved companion. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying a spirit of generosity and kindness that will be greatly missed.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ruth McGinnis; stepdaughter Dani Krider (Ed); brother Dale McGinnis; sisters Myra Rembert, Mary Ann Brooks, and Susan Hurst; brother-in-law Tom Keever; and cherished grandchildren, Quentin McGinnis, Chris Jackson, Toni McGinnis, and Emily Huffman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ethel McGinnis; brothers Ed and Terry McGinnis; and his two children, Timmy McGinnis and Jackie Gabriel.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville, NC, starting at 2:00 PM.

Charles Culp McGinnis Jr. will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, love for antiques, and unwavering support of his family and friends. His legacy will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to know him.

The family would like to give a special thanks to a wonderful friend and neighbor Jeff Mitchell for all the help and kindness he has showed the family during this time.
