Charles Hubert Oxentine, age 77, born on Friday, August 1, 1947, in Wilkes County, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of those around him.
During his working career, he was a truck driver for E R Carpenter. Charles loved his family and always cherished spending quality time with them.
Charles enjoyed gardening and tending bees, where he found solace in nurturing plants and bees, watching them flourish. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, often sharing these interests with family and friends, creating cherished memories. Music was another love of his; he enjoyed listening to and playing the guitar. Additionally, he liked traveling to the mountains, appreciating the beauty of nature and finding peace in the scenic views.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Oxentine, children: Eric Oxentine (Misty), Tony Jolly, Jeffrey Oxentine (Robert Punch), Misty Beard (Joe), Darin Oxentine (April), Jason Oxentine (Megan), Jeremy Oxentine, and Heather Pearson (Audie): and brother, Samuel Lee Oxentine (Martha). He was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly and hold onto the memories they created together.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Gladys Oxentine, and his nephew, Steven Brent Oxentine.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville, NC, beginning at 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Taylorsville City Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Charles' legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was a testament to the values of family, friendship, and the joys found in simple pleasures. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
