Charles Thomas Harrington,

Charles Thomas Harrington, age 70, of Taylorsville, passed away on Saturday, January 7th, 2012 at his residence.  He was born in Cabarrus County on March 29th, 1941 to parents Ned Turner and Ira Lee Chapman Harrington. Charles enjoyed gardening, traveling, football, and basketball. He attended East Taylorsville Baptist Church.  He served as the manager of Community One bank. He had taught at Happy Plains School and Taylorsville High School and was an avid Carolina fan. He was a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne University. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy “Mickey” Harrington. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Sylvia Pennell Harringon “Inkie;” one son, Nicky Todd Harrington and his wife Debbie of Taylorsville; 2 grandchildren: Christy Nicole Harrington Fox and husband Dustin of Conover, and Ashley Michelle Harrington of Taylorsville; and 1 great-grandchild, Ella Grace Fox. Visitation will be conducted on Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 at East Taylorsville Baptist Church from 1:00 – 2:45 P.M.  Funeral Service to follow at 3 P.M. at the church where Rev. Jamie Steele, Rev. Mark Marshall, Rev. Gary Jennings, and Rev. Wes Hammer will officiate.  Burial will follow in Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery.    Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
