Charles Wenter Sipe, age 67, of Hickory passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015. He was born to the late Wenter and Sybil Eveline Cline Sipe, who survives, on Tuesday, December 30, 1947 in Catawba County. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was employed by Mitchell Gold for 15 years. Charles loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, reading, watching Braves baseball & Duke basketball. He especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

In addition to his father, Charles was preceded in death by; his son Michael Wenter Sipe.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Starnes Sipe, son, Tracy Sipe and wife Marie, of Newton, daughter, Kisha Sipe, of Mt. Airy, grandchildren, Jackson, Jordan, Amber, Kendra, mother, Sybil Sipe, two sisters, Shirley Childers and husband Dale, Brenda Slaughter and husband Greg, mother in law, Melza Starnes, sister in law, Karen Bowman and husband Gary, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be  6:00-8:30 pm at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, in Bethlehem, 9042 NC Hwy 127, Hickory, NC 28601 on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. The funeral service is Wednesday at 11:00 am June 17, 2015 at the Church with the Rev. Stephen Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Military rights are being provided by the Army National Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church building fund 9042 Hwy 127, Hickory, NC 28601 and DAV chapter 84 ; 582 Carrigan Rd., Taylorsville, NC 28681
