Clifton RV “Bill” Douglas, age 81, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, October 17th, 2011 at Valley Nursing Center. He was born on October 28th, 1929 in Alexander County to parents Benjamin Fincher and Cleo Gant Douglas. He was a member East Taylorsville Baptist Church and was well-known for his wood stoves. He was a sheet metal mechanic and was involved in the construction of the BB&T tower in Charlotte, Valley Hills Mall, and Charlotte Douglas International Airport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Willis “Doug” Douglas; and 2 sisters: Gladys Fisher and Opal Clark. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Frances K. Douglas of the home; son, Steve Douglas & wife Cecilia of Taylorsville; daughter, Denise Spagnualo of Las Vegas, NV; 4 sisters: Dorothy Jean Douglas of Davidsonville, MD, Alma Friday of Mt. Holly, Geraldine Douglas of Conover, and Joyce Abbott of Taylorsville. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Jason Douglas & wife Amy of Taylorsville, and Jazzmin and Storm Spagnualo of Las Vegas; 5 great-grandchildren: Lily and Max Douglas of Taylorsville, Mariah and Taylor Spagnualo of Las Vegas, and Keondre Anderson – also of Las Vegas. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be conducted on Friday, October 21st, from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at East Taylorsville Baptist Church with the service to follow at 3:30 where Rev. Jamie Steele will officiate. Burial will follow in the Taylorsville City Cemetery. Jason Douglas, Mike Douglas; Bobby, Bryan, and Jason White, and Brian Chapman will serve as pallbearers.
