Clifton William Russell,

Clifton William Russell, age 92, formally of Taylorsville, passed away in Edna, Texas, on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, following a long period of declining health. He was born to the late William Carson and Lillie Caroline Fortner Russell on March 13, 1923 in Wilkes County. He joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in September 1938 and he served in the US Navy Reserves during World War ΙΙ.

In addition to Clifton's parents he was preceded in death by brothers; John, Roy, Velcer, & Henry Russell, sisters; Evie Overcash, Ola Hudson, Clara Armes, and Eva.

He leaves to cherish his memory children; William Stephen Russell and previous wife Kim, Clarence Andrew Russell, Margie Janet Russell-Hunter, Roger Lee Russell & Karen, Susan Russell Lackey & Robert, Ex wife Elzia Lou Church Russell, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be held 1:30-3:00 Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with services immediately following. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military rights provided by DAV Post 84 and 6.
