Cline Lester Smith,

Cline Lester Smith, age 67, of Conover passed away Thursday night, December 5, 2013 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born in Cherokee County, NC on February 27, 1946 to the late Roy Lester and Ella Ellavie (Davis) Smith. He was retired from CommScope and had previously worked for Siecor - Corning Cable System, RR Donnelly and Sweet Water Winding Company. Cline was a graduate of CVCC and Gardner Webb University. He also enjoyed making paper airplanes for his grandson and cooking. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years: Karen Sue (Killian) Smith of the home; son: Chris Smith and fiancé Ashley; daughter: Brandie Smith; grandchild: Gunner Smith, all of Conover.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover and service will begin at 3:30 pm with the Pastor Paul Birner officiating. Private burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Donald Killian, Gary Killian, Dan Bolton, Chad Bolton, Randy Munday and Chris Barnes. Honorary Pallbearer will be Son Nguyen. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association at 7272 Greeneville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
