Colin Robinette, age 84, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 in Hospice of Catawba Co. Born Oct. 2, 1926 to the late Lum and Eloh Robinette in Alexander County, he was a professional truck driver, for Freight Master a division of Craft Master Furniture. He was well known as the operator of the Pure Oil Station in Taylorsville, for many years. Colin had been a member of the Taylorsville Fire Department and was an organizing member of the Alexander Rescue Squad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Robinette, one son, Danny Robinette, one brother, Sonny Robinette and one sister Zelma Lackey, as well as one granddaughter Robin Rollins. He is survived by two daughters: Toni Rollins of Hickory and Camelia Main of Taylorsville. Ten grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Robinette officiating.
