Coy Woodring Sipe,

Coy Estelle Woodring Sipe, age 99, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville, NC. She was born July 3, 1917 in Alexander County. Coy worked over 50 years for Sipe Lumber Co., a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Sipe; her brothers, Rosco Woodring; James Woodring; and her granddaughter, Sandra Sipe. She is survived by 5 children; three daughters, Betty Pennell, Carolyn James, and Kathy Loving; two sons, Conley Sipe and Ralph Sipe; 9 grandchildren, Rev. Earl Pennell, Bill Pennell, Mike Pennell, Karen Morris, Mark James, Kurt James, Kevin Sipe, Kendall Sipe, and Marie Markuson; 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be conducted at St. Luke Lutheran Church Cemetery, Monday, August 22, 2016 with Pastor Andrew Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to St. Luke Lutheran Church (Graveyard Fund), 1364 Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC  28681.
