Rev. Coy Walker, 89 years young, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He was a pastor for 50 years and witnessed for the Lord everywhere he went. Coy was a graduate from Fruitland Bible Institute and Liberty Home Bible Institute. He was survived by his wife, Margaret Swink Walker, of Taylorsville; children: Brenda Poindexter Mosley and husband Tommy, of Denton, NC; Lynn Walker Moose and husband Jeff, of Statesville; Wayne Brown and wife Michelle, of Taylorsville; and Angela Elder Hines and husband Phil, of Lyman, SC. Grandchildren: Amanda Byrd, Randy Poindexter, Rodney Walker, Justin & Jason Elder, and Stephanie & Anita Brown; along with 7 great-grandchildren. Stepchildren: Gary Lovin and wife Linda, Ronnie Lovin, Michael Swink and wife Rachel, and Debbie Taylor; along with numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son: Rev. Jimmy Walker, granddaughter, Annette Walker, both of Denton, NC; 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm at Liledoun Baptist Church and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with the Rev. James Lockee and Rev. Paul Schronce officiating. Committal service will follow at Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Moravian Falls with the Rev. Randy Campbell officiating.
