Daisy Gibbs Dula,

Daisy Bell Scott Gibbs Dula, age 78, of Taylorsville, passed away on Friday, July 29th, 2011.  She was born in Alexander County on August 5th, 1932 to the late Eli Scott and Leola King Scott. Daisy attended Happy Plains High School and was a post graduate of Nursing School.  At an early age, she joined Macedonia Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and worked in the Mission and Fellowship Hall.  She enjoyed cooking, writing, traveling, and sewing.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Dula; 3 brothers:  JayCee, Willie Lee, and Richard Scott; and 2 sisters:  Mary Rene and Dorothy Delene Scott.  Those left to remember the blessing Daisy brought into their lives and homes are 4 sons:  Ernest Zayvon Scott, Jimmy Lee Scott, Xavier Gibbs and wife Darlean, and Joel Oglaire Gibbs and wife Angela; daughter: Sabryna Micgill; 2 sisters: Marjorie Scott and Dorethea Scott - both of Taylorsville; 3 brothers:  Melvin, Robert, and William Avon Scott – also of Taylorsville; 10 Grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  She also leaves behind her special friends, Jack and Idell Mackwell of Statesville.  Visitation will be at Macedonia Baptist Church, Hwy 90, Taylorsville, from 11:00 a.m. - 12 Noon on Tuesday, August 2 with the Funeral Services to begin at 12 Noon.  Rev. R.D. Roseboro, Rev. William L. Brown, and Rev. James Millsaps will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
