Daniel "Sloan" Fincannon,

Daniel "Sloan" Fincannon, age 78, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Mr. Fincannon was born to the late James Daniel and Idalou Sloan Fincannon on March 24, 1937 in Alexander County. He served in the United States Airforce. In addition to his parents Mr. Fincannon was preceded in death by one sister Mary Melton, one granddaughter Erin Fincannon, and a son in law Mitchell McLean.

Mr. Fincannon is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Kerley, son Dan Fincannon & wife Terri, daughter Beth McLean, brother Dewitt Fincannon, sister Letha Turner, four grandchildren: Daniel Fincannon III, Williams Fincannon, Jackson McLean, &Fin McLean, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Service, with the memorial service following in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 pm. The Rev. Josh Sherfey will be officiating the service.
