Danny Ray Benfield

Danny Ray Benfield, age 70, passed away in Catawba County at Catawba Valley Medical Center on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Born on Friday, October 2, 1953, in Catawba County, to the late Leroy and Ollie Mae Lackey Benfield. Danny was a compassionate soul known for his kind-hearted nature and willingness to help others. Throughout his life, Danny prioritized the well-being of those around him. His selfless attitude shone through his work at Lowes Hardware, where he assisted customers with a smile on his face. Beyond his professional endeavors, Danny's dedication extended to serving his country in the United States Navy, a period he deeply cherished. In his leisure time, Danny found solace in the great outdoors. Whether it was hunting or fishing, he embraced nature's beauty wholeheartedly. Additionally, his commitment to youth development was evident through coaching numerous recreation sports teams in Alexander County and was a member of Tri City Baptist Church of Conover.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Perry Lee Benfield (brother) and Dein Davis (sister).
 
Danny will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his daughter Erin Leanne Davis (Adam), granddaughter Skyler Davis, sisters Jo Ann Seitz and Beulah Price, brothers Larry Benfield (Kathy) and John Benfield, and sister-in-law Doris Benfield. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be with the family.
