Danny Len Jolly, age 59, of the Wittenburg Community, Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem on Sunday, November 11, 2012, from injuries sustained in a fall at his home on Saturday. Born on April 18, 1953, to the late Leonard William Jolly and Mary Cline Jolly, who survives, he was a self employed brick mason, following a career in furniture manufacturing, as an upholsterer. He was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church in Taylorsville, and was an avid deer hunter as well as enjoying fishing, woodworking and had developed a love for oil painting. He was known for “quitting” work at 3:00 p.m. each day to spend time with the grandchildren. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Lynn Shealy Lee Jolly of the home, four sons, Cody Lee and wife Lauren, Heath Jolly and wife Melissa, Adam Jolly and wife Kristen, Drew Jolly and wife Jennifer, all of Taylorsville. There are four grandchildren, Garrett and Alyssa Jolly, Lorick and Jovie Lee, all of Taylorsville and one grandchild expected. Also surviving is one sister, Patsy Glazner and husband Ted, of Conover and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
To celebrate his life, the family will have a service on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Friendship Lutheran Church with visitation following the service. The body will lie in state from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm in the Chapel at Friendship Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Todd Rauscher and Rev. Phil Thorsen will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Gary Barlow, Clayton Barlow, Guy Chapman, Mark Lackey, Teddy Sweet and Allen Fox.
