Darlene Milstead Barnes

Darlene Milstead Barnes, age 56, of Taylorsville went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 18, 2016. She was born March 10, 1960 to Ruby and the late Rayford Milstead and worked at Wilkes Community College and Furniture Mart in Hickory. Darlene was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and loved to farm, work in the flowers and was a great cook. She also loved her nieces just like they where her own. Including her father she is preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Ruth and Larry Fox.

Including her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 21 years, Phillip Joe Barnes; her great nieces, Amy and Emily Barnes; brother, Randy Milstead and wife Penny; sister, Angie Kirby and husband Don; and as well as a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 1:30pm – 3:30pm at Mt. Herman Baptist Church with the service to follow at 3:30 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Schronce will officiate the service. Pallbearers include Bill Lackey; Mike Dagenhart; Roger, Chris, & Todd Harrington; Terry Bumgarner; and Michael & Greg Fox. Memorials may be made to Mt.
